Two Bore vessels to be converted into combi car carriers

Bore has entered into two conversion contracts with Cosco (Nantong) Shipyard Co. Ltd in China. The contracts cover the conversion of the m/v's Heralden and Serenaden from RoRo carriers into combi car carriers.

The conversion will transform Heralden and Serenaden into modern car carrying tonnage without loosing out their original paper and trailer carrier capabilities. The first vessel is scheduled to be ready from conversion in January 2007 and the second vessel at the end of February 2007.

The conversion is taking place in very close co-operation with the end user, United European Car Carriers (UECC). UECC will employ Serenaden and Heralden on it's network under long-term time charter contracts. Serenaden and Heralden are sister vessels to m/v Transgard, another vessel owned by Bore that is employed by UECC. M/v Transgard underwent the same conversion in 2005 as now planned for m/v's Heralden and Serenaden.

The principal dimensions and capacities of m/v’s Heralden or Serenaden after the conversion are:

   After  Before
 GT  18,979  10,570
 NT  5,694  3,171
 Dwt  6,165  7,629
 Deck Area (m²)   13,315  7,629
 Vehicle Capacity  1,610  96
   cars  trailers (40 ft)
